Backup & Disaster Recovery

If the worst happens, you're back up fast.

Hard drives fail. Laptops get stolen. Ransomware locks files. Storms happen. The question isn't whether you'll ever lose data, it's whether you can get it back quickly when you do.

Our backup and disaster recovery service makes sure your important files, servers and cloud data are copied automatically, stored safely in more than one place, and tested so we know they'll actually restore.

What's included

  • Automatic backups of servers, computers and cloud data like email and shared files
  • Whole-computer and whole-server copies, so a machine can be restored exactly as it was, even onto new equipment
  • Off-site copies, so one disaster can't take everything
  • Locked copies that can't be changed or deleted, even by ransomware
  • Many past versions kept, so you can go back weeks or months
  • Automatic restore tests, nightly for servers, so a backup is proven to work before you need it
  • Health checks on your office storage devices
  • Alerts when a backup fails, handled by our team
  • A written recovery plan for your business: what gets restored first, and how fast

How it works

We find out what data your business can't live without and how long you could be down before it hurts. Then we set up backups to match, with copies on-site for speed and, depending on your plan, off-site for safety, and we check them every day. If something goes wrong, we restore your files or your whole server and get you working again.

Who it's for

Every business with files it can't afford to lose: client records, accounting data, patient charts, contracts, photos or years of email. It matters most for offices that store data on one computer or server today.

Why Unite

A backup you've never tested is just a hope. We check your backups every day and test restores on a schedule, so we know they'll work when it counts. And because we also manage your IT, we can restore and get you running again, not just hand you a pile of files.

Frequently asked questions

Isn't saving files to the cloud enough?

Not always. Cloud file sharing copies mistakes and deleted files too, and many services only keep old versions for a short time. A real backup keeps separate copies you can restore from, even weeks later.

How often are backups made?

It depends on how much work you can afford to redo. Most offices back up at least daily, and important servers more often. We'll set a schedule that fits your business.

Can backups protect us from ransomware?

Yes. Backups stored separately from your network can't be locked by an attack, so we can restore your files instead of anyone paying a ransom.

How fast can you restore?

A single file usually takes minutes. A full server depends on its size, and we plan for that ahead of time in your recovery plan.

Where are our backups stored?

We keep a copy close by for fast restores. Depending on the plan you choose, we also keep a copy off-site, so a fire, flood or theft at your office can't take everything.
